Right now you should have finished:

1) Connection Essay
2) Creative Connection
3) Reading Blogs

and should have a good start on the Personal Response Essay.

Today we will discuss your analysis essay.

So what you need to do for this essay is to choose one striking element - such as a symbol or an allusion, or irony and then link it with a theme.

What are some themes for this text?  The meaning of freedom.  The importance of being an individual or identity.  Power. Science.

So - a thesis statement could be: In A Brave New World the social caste structure - Alphas, Betas, Deltas, Grammas, Epilsons - reinforce the idea of identity, or lack of individuality as a controlling function of society: Stability.

You would then discuss how the caste system does this.
